A porridge that may look pretty?...

I already wrote about how I eat my porridge (you can find it here) but I want to share some more ideas with you. That's how I eat it recently. As the days are shorter and weather is cooler (it's basically raining here constantly, it's really miserable...) I'm choosing what's 'comfort food' for me. A nice scent of cinnamon, apples, sultanas on a hot porridge - can you have a better start of the day?

How to make it...

- a bowl of porridge (prepared as per instructions)
- 1 apple, pealed and cored
- some sultanas
- 1 tablespoon of honey
- 1 teaspoon of unsalted butter
- cinnamon
- brown sugar

Prepare your porridge as per instructions (there are so many types of this popular breakfast right now: rolled, instant, quick etc. so I won't write here how to make it...). Cut your apple into slices, melt the butter and place the apple slices onto a hot pan. Sprinkle with some cinnamon and a little of brown sugar and fry till nice and soft. For a healthier version of this you may actually poached the apple instead of frying it. Place fried apple onto your porridge, add some sultanas and honey (if you like). Eat hot and enjoy!
